Orion over Baghdad is an archive of titles of images posted by US soldiers serving in the Iraq conflict to their flickr accounts. The texts are digitally printed on acetate to make a negative, and the resulting photogram is made in a darkroom on silver-gelatin fiber paper. The archive includes four vertical panels of text fields each 80×54” and 100 single title pieces each 13×18”.
This work debuted at Andrew Rafacz Gallery in 2009, press release here.
